Knee Extension: AAROM Seated
- Begin seated upright in a chair or on the end of a table - Place the opposing leg behind the leg performing the exercise - Attempt to extend the forward knee as far as possible by contracting the muscles of your thigh - Use the opposite leg to aid in knee extension by providing an assistive push or over pressure to achieve full knee extension - When you have reached the desired end range of motion, slowly lower your knee back into the flexed position while using the opposite leg to assist as needed - Maintain good posture throughout this exercise
